The number of people infected with the novel COVID-19 has reached nearly 2 million worldwide. There are over 100,000 people dead so far. And about 400,000 people have recovered from Coronavirus. That means that around 23% of the people infected are now sane and safe. But these numbers are not so accurate. Remember that about 80 percent of the people infected will be able to mild cases and will stay at home to treat themselves. This means that there are a lot of people who have the virus but have not gone to the hospital.
The numbers above are only confirmed cases. Imagine for a second what is the real number of unconfirmed cases. When you start to look at statistics from this point of view, then the reality is scary. America has so far over 500,000 people confirmed with Coronavirus. Followed by Spain with over 160,000 cases and Italy with over 150,000 confirmed cases. In America alone, there are over 20,000 people dead from the virus. But let’s look at for a second at the number of people recovered for each country. The number one country with the highest number of people recovered is China with over 77,000 people recovered.
Then Spain is the second country with the highest number of people recovered, with over 62,000 cases. Germany is on number three with a total number of 57,400 recovered cases. China has eased the lockdown measurements last week since the number of people infected in this country has fallen significantly. Uninfected people are allowed to walk on the streets freely, but doctors are staying vigilant to make sure that a second outbreak does not occur. In the meantime, Europe is in nearly total lockdown with borders closed and people quarantined like never before.
We must take stronger measurements to make sure that we are all safe. This quarantine life might be very hard but we have to do what we have to do to make sure that the number of people dead is low. It’s selfish to think that just because we are not infected that is okay to go out. We might risk someone else’s life. People must stay inside until we have found the vaccine and we are all cured and safe from the virus. It is not a joke and despite the fact that being inside all the time is depressing, it is a sacrifice we must do.
